What are the positions available ?
The president leads and directs the group in all its activities. He/she represents the council and the class. It is the responsibility of the president to offer positive leadership, listen to others and delegate responsibilities. Some responsibilities include announcing when meetings will occur, preparing an agenda and working closely with PCP Staff.
The Vice President is the official replacement for the president, should the president be unable to fulfill his/her responsibilities. It is the responsibility of the vice president to support the leadership of the president. The vice president acts as the coordinator of committees and should always offer positive leadership. Some responsibilities include knowing the presidents job, helping prepare agendas, and setting deadlines for committee work.
The major role of the secretary is to keep accurate written records of each meeting and to write letters of any correspondence needed by the council.
The treasurer tries to find ways to fundraise for their class, such as a car wash, candy/food sale, as well as purchasing class needs. Also, the duties include keeping records of purchases, money collected and spent, and holding receipts.
The historian is in charge of capturing all events, field trips, tutoring sessions and anything else their class might do throughout the year. Their duties include taking pictures at all events the PCP office holds as well as creating some type of yearbook to share with their class, staff, parents and our sponsors.
